Spicy Scones

"Amaze your guests with the aroma of these scones clean from the oven"

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup all-cause flour
  • 1 cup complete wheat flour
  • 1/four cup white sugar
  • four teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • half teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • half of teaspoon salt
  • 1/three cup margarine, chilled
  • 1/2 cup currants
  • 1 egg
  • 2/three cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar

Instructions :

Prep : 15M Cook : 12M Ready in : 30M
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 tiers C). Grease one baking sheet.
  • Combine the all-cause flour, entire wheat flour, white sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, floor nutmeg and salt in a bowl and mix well. Cut inside the butter till crumbly and stir within the raisins. Make a nicely inside the middle.
  • In a small bowl beat the egg till frothy. Mix in the milk and pour into the properly made in the dry elements. Stir to make a soft dough.
  • Turn dough out on to a lightly floured surface. Knead gently eight to 10 instances. Pat dough into 6 inch circles and transfer to the organized baking sheet. Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Score every top into 6 pie formed wedges.
  • Bake at 425 tiers F (220 degrees C) for 15 mins or till nicely risen and browned. Serve hot with butter. Maple butter goes thoroughly with those scones.
