Irish Bannock Good Recipes

Irish Bannock

"A tasty loaf just like a scone. Perfect for breakfast or as a snack with tea or coffee."

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • half of teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • half of teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • half of cup dried currants

Instructions :

  • Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Cut butter into flour aggregate with pastry cutter. Add buttermilk until dough is gentle. Stir in currants.
  • Turn dough out onto a gently floured surface. Knead for five mins, or until clean. Form dough into a 7 inch spherical. Place on a lightly oiled cake pan or cookie sheet. Cut half inch deep pass side to aspect. Score with go half inch deep at the pinnacle.
