Coffee Smoothie Recipe

Coffee Smoothie the perfect way to start your morning with coffee, I have been making this recipe basis since I ran across it last summer. It’s easy, this takes me about 3 minutes to put together once the coffee is brewed.

This coffee smoothie has just about every nutrient you can think of. I believe in eating food that combines the power of energy and nutrients, and this breakfast does just that.

Coffee and Your Health

Health benefits of coffee can be protecting against Parkinson’s disease, type 2 diabetes and liver disease, including liver cancer. Coffee also appears to improve cognitive function and decrease the risk of depression.

Coffee also contains minerals such as magnesium and chromium, which help the body use the hormone insulin, which controls blood sugar (glucose).

How to Make Coffee Smoothie

For the coffee, I tend to brew a full cup’s worth of espresso in my stovetop mocha and then, once cooled pour it into Tupperware. I then put this in the fridge and leave overnight.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cold coffee, chilled in your fridge overnight
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp of crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (either unflavored or vanilla)
  • ½ cup of almond milk (or regular milk if you prefer)
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Place all of the ingredients in your blender.
  2. Blend until smooth for about 30-45 seconds, and pour into a glass over ice.
